I am thinking of buying a diesel car. either honda civic or toyota avensis dated before DPF fitted.

I am thinking about buying a Honda Civic or Toyota Avensis diesel car dated before the fitting of DPF.

I am concerned about the Dual Mass Flywheel and would like to know which of the above car engines has the fewest problems with the DMF.

Does the relatively low compression ratio on the Avensis improve the reliability of the DMF?

Is there a reliability list for diesel engines?

www.dieselbob.co.uk might help with general reliability of diesels. You can check both the cars out for faults in What's Bad in their entries in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/
