Stop/start issues with a Micra

I own a Nissan Micra with Pure Drive function. When the ignition is switched on, the dashboard 'auto' LED is continuously blinking.

Furthermore, when I stop in traffic the stop-start system sometimes starts the engine before I've lifted the clutch and attempted to move off.

The engine might have to start to up in order to charge the battery because electrical components, like air-con, are being used.
