Buying an extended warranty for a 3008

They have done two costly warranty repairs which they found when they have done main services at 12500 and 25000 miles.

My car is Peugeot 3008 Automatic Diesel Sports model 1.6 litre. My question is in view of your questioning the electonic gearing system and what might happen in next few years would it be wise to get this 3 year Service Plan guarantee they are offering at CARS Service Plan, which guarantees 50% MOT discount, 10% discount on all mechanical repairs, Brake Pads, Tyres, and associated Labour.

30 installments starting at £92.01 then £25.08 installments Total Cost £819.33. It presupposes I will keep the car another 3 years. I am 68 and am driving roughly 12500 miles every year. My car was regsitered from new by me in July 2010.

This will have an EGS automated manual transmission. Not a recipe for long life. You do need some sort of warranty that will repair it if it fails, but obviously a warranty that does not cover this, or does not cover the clutch, would be pointless waste of money.
