Car computer not reconnected after a service

Flashing DPF dasboard light came on at 23400 miles on 15/02/12. Mazda dealer diagnostic check showed that they had not reset the car computer(?) after the service in July 11, no actual fault with DPF. Has the non-connection of the car computer had an adverse effect upon the engine/dpf etc in the past and will it have caused possible problems for the future?

Probably not. But still send a letter by post office special delivery to the dealer principal of the dealership complaining about this and holding the dealership responsible for any problems you may subsequently suffer with the DPF.
