My cousin has recently bought a 3-year old auto Colt and has complained to the garage that the gearchange is jerky changing both up and down, and that you can't hold the car on a slight hill. The car has been returned to be checked twice but was told there was nothing wrong with the auto box. Is this a problem with all auto Colts or just this one? There is only a short time of warranty left.

It's an automated manual, not an automatic. They are like that. You have to allow the throttle to damp itself in between changes otherwise progress will be a series of lurches. On a slight hill you have to left foot brake or use the parking brake to hold the car.
