206 indicator won't go off

I have a T reg Peugeot 206. The left indicators, front, side and back, are staying on all the time, even when the battery is disconnected. Mechanic has checked wiring but nothing found.

I have been told that only a Peugeot dealer can fix this problem by re-programming it.

It's probably the column switch. They have a history of failure.
