What's the best used car for £3500?

I am looking for a used car with good mileage. My car at the moment is a Kia Picanto - I have it fully serviced every year. The car is now starting to go wrong so I would like to sell it and then buy another used car.

I can afford maybe £3500. I would like something that is reliable so it doesn't keep failing the MoT and also doesn't go wrong out of the MoT. Could a used Suzuki or a Toyota be the best small car for me to buy?

With your budget and requirements, a slightly newer Kia Picanto would probably be the best choice. £3500 will get you a 2012 or 2013 model with low mileage and lots of life left in it. A Toyota Aygo would be a very dependable alternative, or a slightly bigger Toyota Yaris.
