Should I buy a 2005 Citroen C5 diesel estate?

I've been offered a 2005 Citroen C5 diesel estate with low mileage (65,000 miles), one owner from new (owner is retiring from driving) for £700.

It drives perfectly, it will come with a new MoT.

I'm nervous about potential problems with its air suspension, are they a known problem, and are they expensive to repair?

The answer to this question will very much depend on your expectations of the car.

If you are looking for a cheap runaround for 6 or 12 months then there is no reason why this car won't meet these expectations. However, due to the age of the vehicle, it'll be a case of when and not if serious/expensive problems start to develop.

The air suspension will be heavily worn, along with all of the other major components of the car. It's important to note that most cars in the UK are scrapped at 14 years, due to the fact they become uneconomical to repair.
