Emission unpassable

I read your reply to N.B. of Hurst, about the new Jazz I-Shift 'auto' option. Presumably Honda does not fit the torque converter box because of its need to get the emissions down as low as possible and mpg up, but from all reports the I-Shift is not going to win them many friends. I can’t imagine why they have dropped the CVT which in my experience works faultlessly in all of the modes, and is a credit to those responsible for its control system.

That was the reasoning, but Honda failed to get emissions down under 121g/km so imported Jazz I-Shifts are still £120 tax instead of the promised £35. However, it could be that Honda will take the opportunity of shifting European production to Swindon to have the Jazz I-Shift re-tested and reclassified to under 121g/km and to £35 tax. The Honda Insight has a CVT transmission.
