Kerb-on footprint

Most parked cars in my street, including mine, have scuffed wheel trims. Most, that is, except Peugeots, one BMW and a Range Rover where the trim is tucked well behind the tyre profile. If some can do it, why not all, or is it a racket to sell replacements?

I agree. Protruding rims are a nuisance, particularly protruding alloy
Rims that get wrecked very easily on kerbs. Wheel trims are relatively less expensive. £15 each for a Focus. One option is to buy a cheap set from Halfords for £10 - £15, fit them, then replace the undamaged originals when you come to sell the car.
