Badgers’s best

My father in law (75 and a disabled badge holder) is struggling to get into his old Escort, which is on its last legs (his aren't much better). We have a Zafira which he finds easy to get into as the doors are large and floor/seat not too low but it's too big for him as parking in his street is a nightmare. We have looked at a Vauxhall Agila which would suit him but as I believe they are quite new I don't think we'll find one for his £5k-£6k budget. We're going to look at a Fiesta Fusion but am wondering if you could suggest any others. Ideally it should have 4 passenger doors as he sometimes takes out 2 other elderly people.

Best of the lot: Suzuki Splash and new model Vauxhall Agila. Link to test, which includes a video demo of how easy it is to get in and out of: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road_tests/index.htm?id=368 If he can't afford one, then a used Toyota Yaris 5-door.

Surprisingly spacious small five-door city car. Makes best sense with 1.0 petrol engine. Much better than old Agila. Rebadged version of Suzuki Splash.
