What's the best petrol SUV?

I'm looking for a largish 4x4 to do approx 6000 miles a year, mostly short trips. I have a budget of £13,000.

Such low mileage rules out diesel. And unless you need the 4x4 for off-roading, I'd recommend buying a front-wheel-drive petrol crossover and fitting all-season tyres to cope with the wintery weather. Something like a Honda CR-V or a Suzuki Vitara would be a good choice for £13,000.
