Insure rescue

My car insurance is due for renewal. I am currently with Norwich Union, which, of course, has just changed to Aviva. I have heard rumours that in the event of a claim, Aviva personnel are not the easiest people to deal with. The most important part of car insurance as far as I am concerned is the claims side. Cheap premiums are all very well, but if you have difficulty when it comes to claims, you have not gained much. Who in your experience are the best companies to deal with when it comes to claiming?

Insurance is a morass at the moment. In a recent Auto Express survey, NFU Mutual was voted best for the fourth year running. Liverpool Victoria also comes out relatively well.
