Letter in Sunday Times re studs in tyres 2 Dec 2003 (Forum)
changed it? Also why? It's not as if thousands of people are running around wearing out the road surface prematurely. If the conditions are such that it's a worthwhile investment then you should be allowed to use them. They really do make a difference. -

I've just bought a Vauxhall Astra (Expression) 1.4 litre hatchback H reg. It has 120,000 miles on the clock. The engine runs really well. However... the automatic choke does not work. When starting the car I need to keep my foot on the accellerator until the engine warms up to stop the engine -

Girls Cars 22 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Hi guys, I'm new to this site and new to driving having just passed my test (2nd try). I need a car for uni and was wondering what to buy. Don't have much money to spend, so it's got to be cheap to buy and run. I was thinking about a Metro or one of those Kias perhaps. They seem to be cheap n -
Castrol 1 Bike Oil 6 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Uncle Rupert's Star Sports Channel got it all wrong for the Philippines. They're running a Castrol commercial which is ludicrously based on a soccer theme (for a country whose favorite national sport by far is cock-fighting, followed by basket-ball and then pool) and ends with the exhortation "Make -

Wow!!! We've got a BMW Z4! :-) Arranged a little surprise for my dad at work, he didn't have a clue it was coming! Anyway, fantastic car, lovely sounding V6 engine, loads of toys, and we love it to bits. Even has James Bond style run flat tyres, even a stinger can't stop us now! :-) Shame -
Disposable Cars? 30 Jun 2003 (Forum)
. For example, the new BMW 5 series, comes, I think with drive by wire, how much will this cost to replace if, sorry when the unit goes wrong? The list goes on. Conspiracy to make us all buy new cars? Apologies for anyone who isn't interested in running old cars. -
Which convertible? 16 Jun 2003 (Forum)
My partners wants a convertible that is fairly new (2/3 years), and not too expensive to insure and run. It must have space for two toddlers. She has £11K to spend. She is very keen on 206cc which I don't think has enough space - but she sits fairly close to the wheel so thinks the two bucket seats -
Oil Consumption, new C3 16v HDi 17 May 2003 (Forum)
Any opinions on the following please: Our new Citroen C3 16v HDi diesel has done 1,000 miles and it has used approx 0.75 litres of oil. It has been driven snail-like as I want to build up the rpm slowly, I beleive this used to be called 'running-in'! Our Picasso HDi diesel, by contrast has -

low coolant temperature 25 Apr 2003 (Forum)
not show the temperature as at the middle or upper reaches of the temperature gauge once warmed up. Now this may be a faulty gauge, or it may be that my car runs cool. If it is the latter, is it anything to worry about? -
Renault first fill oil 21 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I have a new megane 1.9dCi with 4000 miles on the clock. I am unable to get a decent answer as to the factory fill oil. The dealer says it\'ll be elf full synthetic 5W40 but a mechanic who works there thinks more likely 10W40 semi-synthetic for running in. The handbook suggests that the first -
