2 litre VW engine uses oil 10 Jul 2007 (Forum)
The petrol engine on my 5 1/2 year old Passat uses about 1ltr of oil every 2 to 3 months. I do about 8.000 miles a year, mostly 7 mile runs to work. The car has covered just over 40,000 miles now and has always been serviced at a VW dealer. Is this normal? Prior to the Passat I had a 15 year old -
Read on, MkV Golf owners 8 Jul 2007 (Forum)
I picked Gunther up from his first service today. While he was in, I had asked them to look at a slight stutter on accelerating, mainly through second gear. Apparently there is an ECU update for the tdi, to correct what they called 'rough running'. This has now been done to my car, and it's like -
Golf Mk4 problem starting when warm 24 Jun 2007 (Forum)
My 1.6 MkIV Golf starts perfectly when cold but is very difficult to start when warm. After a run it needs to be left about half an hour or more before it starts easily again. Once started when warm it idles smoothly and drives normally. I guess it may be a sensor that needs replacing -

I have a volvo s80 V reg about 7 years old. The car has had the same battery as the one that it came with when it was new so the battery is also about 7 years and has finally run out. It won't take charge anymore, I have kept it on the charger all night. So I have gone to Halfords to look -

Logbook when buying from a dealer 12 Mar 2007 (Forum)
What happens with the V5 when buying a used car from a dealer? My tax is due to run out at the end of this month, and having had the car for just over 2 weeks, I still haven't had the V5 back from the DVLA. Looking at their site, it implies that I should have signed part of the V5 myself before -
Consumers want greener cars 5 Feb 2007 (Forum)
The link below is an almost interesting review on CO2 emmissions from cars and what consumers apparently want - well yes I want a car limited to 155mph and runs on water but I ain't going to get it. The interesting bit for me is the graph towards the bottom that shows increase in weight performance -
Renault Trip computer 28 Dec 2006 (Forum)
Unlike Jermy Klaxon and the late lamented Adam, i'm not keen on running on fumes, so last night on the way home I was not happy when the range on the trip computer dropped from 62 miles to zero in the space of less than a mile. Has anybody else experienced this - the car is a Megane 1.5 dci. I -

spent a lot of time researching and reading comments from like minded people on here. I am willing to accept relatively low fuel consumption and high(er) running costs. Is there anything I might not be aware of? Thanks in advance. -
