  • revs or torque for a smaller turbo diesel ? 19 May 2009 (Forum)
I was wondering if smaller (below 1.9 Litres) turbo diesel engines need to be driven harder to achieve better fuel economy. I was chatting to a bloke down the pub the other night and he thinks that changing up each gear at 2.500 rpm is no good as he thinks at least 3.000 rpm to get the right revs

My Passat 130 TDI which I've had from new is lacking power prior to the turbo cutting in. For example where I would drive up hill in top gear I now have to change gear and get the turbo to cut in to accelerate up the hill. I've changed the MAF, Fuel Filter, Air Filter and the Water Temp Sensor

  • Toyota Yaris (1999 - 2005) - 01 1.3 Yaris : Stuttering once warm 20 Feb 2009 (Forum)
SWMBO's Yaris seems to have developed an annoying fault: Once warmed up it seems to develop a stutter - almost like someone is pinching the fuel line or similar.
