Motoring under the Tories - will it be better? 14 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Will life for the motorist improve if the tories get elected and stay in power for a good decade like labour? Will there be a return to lower fuel taxes, more road building, fairer VED and less gatsos? Or are they just going to tow the 'green' line like all the other misguided, gullible -
Peugeot 307 CC (2003 - 2008) - 06 1.6 turbo boosting 7 Oct 2008 (Forum)
With a 1.6Hdi 110hp, if the turbo pressure was boosted by altering the actuator push rod. Would the ECU system see the extra boost and increase the fueling, increasing the power. As you could do on the mechanical pumps and turbos of such as the 306 Pugs and ZX Citroens. Curious as the question -
Audi - New A6 in dealers from October 14 Aug 2008 (Forum)
I received this link yesterday. I would imagine you'd need to be Russian with a black pond in the garden to fuel the £85k V10 Biturbo RS6 with 580PS and 650Nm. Looks a nice balanced car to my eye now. Previously, it always looked like a big car sitting on a small platform to me. http -

The 406 went in for a service this morning - had the call to say a return pipe from the fuel filter has snapped off during service. No part available until Tuesday apparently. How naked do I feel without my car? I've even looked in to hiring a car in the meantime but they all seem a little -
What was up with this Jaguar? 3 Oct 2007 (Forum)
On the M40 this morning, I was passed by a newish XJ - 54, I think - that seemed to be trailing a little silvery cloud that wasn't spray rising from the wheels. As it disappeared, I noticed it was also leaving behind a strong whiff of diesel fuel. Anyone like to suggest what might have caused -

Changing glowplugs Renault Scenic DTi 21 Dec 2006 (Forum)
Tried to fit a new set of glowplugs on my dads 1998 Scenic 1.9 DTi today. 3 Of them went in fine but the one behind the fuel pump of the cambelt end is proving to be a bit of a pig to get at. Is there a special tool available anywhere or should I have to take any other parts off to get better -
Nissan Pathfinder and biofuel 21 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Does anyone have any experience of using biofuel in a Nissan Pathfinder. The handbook says not to do it but I have just read that a company in Oxford is converting Nissan Navara's (which have the same engine as the Pathfinder) to run on neat bio-fuel - a mixture of rape and soya oil -

Common Rail Diesels 8 Jul 2006 (Forum)
Are these high pressue diesel systems really as bad as I've read? I always thought that diesels not having ignition systems were simpler than petrol engines, but it now seems the reverse is true. Also fuel consumption figures don't appear much different from my 1998 1.4 Civic which rarely goes -

Needless Queing In Filling Stations 27 Jan 2006 (Forum)
In a recent Honest John column, someone complained that they often had to queue in filling stations because they did not have a central fuel filler cap. For their information, pump hoses are long enough to reach either side of a car with careful parking - some of them even unreel from the console -
Total Excellium 29 Sep 2005 (Forum)
