Diesel injectors/cleaning additives 10 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Would anyone be able to offer an informed opinion please: is there a benefit, or is it a con? I mean the variety which you pour into your fuel tank (or others?). I've had two injectors replaced, and am interested in maximising the life of them given the eye-watering cost to replace on this common -
Rover 100 ECUs 3 Nov 2004 (Forum)
I've been told that Rover ECUs loose their settings when you disconnect the battery. Does anyone know if this is true and if so can the ECU learn its settings again, or do I need to have it re-programmed? (I need to disconnect the battery for safety reasons when I change the fuel filter) -
James May in Saturday's Torygraph 5 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Great article. Some mass action is needed to bring the government to its senses - and I'm not sure that trying to vote it out will make any difference. The cost of fuel is astronomical, and about the most expensive in the world. I'm willing to hang up my car keys for a few days. Anyone else? -
Anyone own up to this? 12 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Anyone here one of the 300 people who put the wrong fuel in their vehicle on a daily basis? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3476815.stm [tic mode on] Maybe should have put this under the "Bring back hanging for ..." thread, get the stupid people out of the gene pool [tic mode off] -
Japanese Diesels-Inefficient/thirsty? 11 Oct 2003 (Forum)
For some reason Japanese Diesels like the ones for the Primera/Almera have had bad press, not so much for reliability as for the lack of performance and fuel guzzling nature. Is there any real ground to it.I know compared to the French and the Germans , the Japanese diesels pale in comparision -
Mazda 6 Diesel 25 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I know the Mazda 6 is good etc... but does anyone know who makes the oil burner for it? Is it the ford unit from the new mondeo? or maybe the new joint ford PSA diesel, or something else. If it is the Ford, does it have the same doddgy injection system and up and down fuel economy like the Mondeo? -

I have an R reg nissan micra which, if I haven't driven it for 2 days or so, refuses to start. It's turning over but not catching. Doesn't seem to be dampness or battery as this has been happening in summer also. Anything to do with fuel tube? -

Diesel Payback Miles 5 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Diesel cars are more economical then petrol but the cars themselves cost more as well as the fuel. Over what mileage therefore does a new diesel vehicle become a cost effective buy? As a further thought , why are diesel more expensive when the engines are, allegedly, less complicated? Meldrew (I -
Running out of diesel 15 Sep 2002 (Forum)
A question from someone new to diesel..... If a petrol car runs out of fuel I just stick some more in and go. I've heard that a diesel has to be put through a certain procedure; 're-priming' or something like that. Any advice please! I'm thinking of getting an N-reg Mondeo turbo diesel. David -
The silence is deafening! 23 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Where is everyone? Virtual hangovers? Fed up of speed camera rants? Incidentally, measured the fuel economy of my Audi A4 Tdi at 57.9mpg on a recent round trip to the north west of Scotland. Fully laden, crusing at 70-75mph. I used 4.55 litres to a gallon - is that right? Why doesn't everyone -
EUNOS ROADSTER 20 Jan 2002 (Forum)
I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A EUNOS ROADSTER 1.8. THE FUEL CONSUMPTION SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE HIGH AS I ONLY GET ABOUT 60 MILES TO £10 ON A GOOD RUN. HAVE YOU ANY IDEAS WHY THIS MIGHT BE OR IS THIS NORMAL. I HAVE CHEKED THE AIR FILTER WHICH IS CLEEN. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE WELCOME. THANKS IN ADVANCE -
VW Passat/ Skoda Superb - VW 1.6 and 2.0 TDI Reliability? 9 Oct 2015 (Forum)
comfortable on potholes, but worst when u have to drive a curve roads.. In fuel consumption 2.0 Tdi needed 0.5 L/100 more then 1.6 TDI (highway driving 2.0 TDI needed 6.3 L/100 , and 1.6 Tdi 5.8 L/100 (according to Board Computer)). CR-V Fuel Consumption were 7.2 l/100 (my personal -

Mercedes-Benz GLA - DPF regeneration problems... reject car? 24 Jun 2021 (Forum)
should normally take between 5-10 minutes to complete. Begs the question why mine failed twice and resulted in such reduced fuel economy. There were other issues, dashboard vibration, steering wheel 'clicking', failure to engage 'glide' mode so the garage took it in and held onto -

the tank drop below half full, and almost exclusively use premium diesel, either Shell V power, or equivalent.
