    I found out my XT 2001 has no idle control valve.  Is that function built into the Throttle or do I not have fuel injection?  I am told to replace the ICV.  Now, do I replace the entire Throttle Body?

    Ford Focus - the speedo, rev counter, temp gauge and fuel gauge suddenly go to zero while driving and then come back to normal. Occasionally the engine warning light will come on for a minute and sometimes the ignition warning light does the same. Engine performance is not affected

    How do car makers measure 0-60 times. Do they redline an engine or change up at say 3000 rpm? Is it done carrying a full tank of fuel? Is it done for real on a test track in perfect weather conditions or in a sterile lab along with the fictitious mpg figures?

    HJ says, in his CBC breakdown "Plastic fuel filler pipe between cap and tank can develop hairline cracks leading to petrol fumes entering the cabin when the tank pressurises". Are there any other causes of (strong) petrol smells in these cars (2.0 ecotec hatchback)? Is there a DIY remedy?

    All the indicater and warning lights work on my saxo insrument cluster, however fuel guage (low warning light stays on) , rev counter, temp gauge and spedo do not. Mileage indicator works. Any ideas, have the cluster out all connections seem ok. Any help or direction would be appreciated

    I am looking to buy a diesel car up to 3500 in value. should i go for a v reg focus, an r reg golf or a newish skoda or seat vw clone. fuel economy is more important than power and it does needs to be focus sized and a 5 door hatch with aircon. any comments please?
