Thinking about purchase of a Nissan Terrano diesel 2.7TDI manual. Particularly interested in fuel consumption figures be it real world or govt figures. Also peoples experiences good or bad. Looking at circa 1998/9 with about 70 -80 K mileage. This falls into my price bracket of approx 4K. All -
Fuel comp self calibration? - Ford S-max 13 May 2007 (Forum)
Can you self-calibrate the fuel computer on a ford S-Max. Mine is about 15% optomistic and I know that you could self-calibrate the FC in the Mondeo's by using the two dials/steering wheel controls. If it can be done on an S-MAx, how? I know I can always deduct 15% off the claimed number -
Fuel economy 20 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Does anyone know where MSN cars get their fuel economy figures from? I ask as their figures for the Accord Tourer correspond exactly to what I (and many others) actually get, i.e. 41 mpg combined. This seems in contrast with the official figures, which suggest you'll get 48 combined and 57 -

Primera won't start (Fuel system fault) 31 May 2005 (Forum)
The car is a Nissan Primera (1994, 1.6lx), and it won't start. The engine turns over fine but does not fire up. The Fuse & relay test ok, and spraying some of that Quick start spray through the air filter inlet seems to make a difference. The obvious problem could be the Fuel pump, but does anyone -
Fuel gauges 10 Apr 2005 (Forum)
How exactly do modern fuel gauges work? Presumably the simple system (do manufacturers still use it?) involves a float. I've read that Indy/F1 cars use something that measures the rate of flow from the tank and can therefore deduce how much remains. What about having the tank partially suspended -

The fuel tank on my Honda CD25U sprang a leak last week. An AA temporary repair with liquid metal enabled me to get it home. Ideally I would like to find a second hand replacement as a new one is just under £250 and the bike has a few more miles left in it. Can anyone suggest a source? Failing -

Recieved e-mail today trying to stop the inevitable fuel price increases, it suggested boycotting one major fuel supplier ie ESSO. suggested this was a shure winner if we all did it forcing said supplier to maintain / cut fuel prices over all over suppliers and therefore force all to keep prices -

A few days ago somebody posted a question concerning what was the best rpm for Max fuel consumption? I replied that, so far as I was aware, it was the rpm at which max torque is developed and added that this might be hard to find out. I have since found that the torque figure and the rpm -
