Toyota Auris (2013 - 2019)
1.8 Hybrid Excel CVT 5dr Hatchback
A smooth comfortable drive
Having had this vehicle for one year I am overall impressed and satisfied with my experience to date. My annual mileage has been low at 5000 mostly local with a few longer motorway journeys. I am retired and the car satisfy's my requirements, the comfort is excellent noise levels are low, economy is nothing like what is stated by Toyota but with general motoring returns 57 mpg and around 60 62 mpg on the motorway. On purchasing the vehicle I received 3 years free servicing so have not incurred any costs and I do not anticipate any major outlay whilst the car is in my possession.
In my view the car is better suited to sedate driving, my previous car was a Mini Cooper, I have learned to take corners in a more cautious manner which is probably a good thing.
A major annoyance is the horn which emits a "tinny squark" and is inaudible in traffic, my garage are unconcerned so I shall replace this at my expense with an item more suitable for present day motoring.
