SEAT Leon Estate (2020 on)
SE Dynamic 1.5 TSI Evo 130
Comfortable and relatively spacious but let down by build quality and mediocre engine.
Chose the car as I wanted an estate and it was good value compared to the other options available through my employer. Initial impressions were good, it’s spacious and has good rear legroom even behind a 6ft+ driver, the boot size is good although it is let down by the slightly restricted size of the opening.
The drive is ok but I was expecting more from the engine having previously had a 1.0 TSI engine in a VW, but it is hesitant at low revs and coa*** when worked hard. Economy is good however - it can easily achieve over 60mpg on a motorway run.
The main let down has been the infotainment which is difficult to navigate and clunky, and the non illuminated heater and volume controls are difficult to use at night. The build quality is also questionable, it’s already developed trim rattles within 6 months, had to have a faulty interior light unit replaced (which was activating by itself) and worst of all has been back to the garage due to the exhaust being loose and rattling, not once but twice!
