Peugeot 308 (2014 - 2021)
Allure 2.0L BlueHdi
Top quality car but watch the fuel consumption
Having purchased this car a month ago I am pretty impressed with it overall. The quality, fit and finish of the car is very good for the class and it's good to drive. The engine is powerful and especially effective for motorway driving. The small steering wheel and raised speedometer panel are easy to get used to and much less of an issue than the journalists claim - likewise the touch screen, which works well. On the downside, fuel economy is nowhere near official figures; after 1000 miles the average is around 46-47mpg, which would be fine for a petrol car but very disappointing for a diesel. Hopefully this will improve as the engine loosens, but I'm not sure. The other negative is the tight leg room at the back, though if you use the back seats mostly for kids then it won't be a problem. The boot is generous in size.
