MG 6 (2011 - 2016)
TL 1.9 DTI-TECH150 5dr
A hugely underrated gem from MG
I absolutely love my facelift 2015 MG6 TL diesel model. Bought as a one owner car in 2020, it is still going strong and still pulls like a train to this day. Getting parts is easier now with the likes of BluePrint and the car feels very solidly planted both on the motorway and on the country roads. These cars have their quirks without doubt but once you've cracked them, you learn to forgive them and even to appreciate the art of patience before setting off! Indeed, starting the MG6 with that push key can be both interesting and infuriating at times. Dont just ram it in and hope or silence will ensue! I find that one push, pause, then two push, pause, then start works from cold and then when warmed up, one push, pause then start usually does the trick. A high biting point clutch also needs to be factored in to avoid stalling and use those diesel fuel additives to avoid the dreaded engine management light in mid drive! Other than that, sit back and revel in the luxury goodies that the car gets as standard and marvel at that torquey powerful diesel engine that pushes you back in your seat when the turbo kicks in, which gives good mpg to boot. Most MG6 owners love their cars and I'm definitely one of them. Try one yourself and join the converted!
