Refined road travel with classic quality, and a turn of speed on tap if required

The E Class was purchased for long journeys but has also been used as a daily ride. Refined, smooth, comfortable with enough power safely complete an overtake when required. It takes us to Berlin from Rotterdam, 730km, with an ease that still amazes (with an overnight stop half way across Germany). On the autobahn the car can cruise at incredible pace, but it is equally at ease on round the rural roads of Lincolnshire. Everything is built to a quality that still looks and feels brilliant. There have been a couple of issues which are related to the age of the car. Front lower ball joint creaking - replaced both, broken rear spring - replaced both, broken front spring (common issue) - replaced both. Rest of the maintenance has been routine wear and tear items. I am lucky to live not too far from, and lucky to have found, a Mercedes-Benz Specialist at Spilsby Road Garage New Leake Lincolnshire - reasonable prices with specialist knowledge that is keeping the car in superb condition.
This is my first Mercedes and my only regret is that I did not buy one sooner in life. Would I buy another, this is the best car I have ever owned but don’t think I will need to buy an E Class as this one is a keeper. However that said, I am actively looking to buy a CLK as a second car.
