Jaguar E-Pace (2018 on)
2.0D I4 180PS R-Dynamic SE Auto AWD 5dr
Lovely car with a great standard specification
I have covered 26,000+ miles over 2 years now, the car has not been a problem at all. I drive about 240 miles a week with a mix of city and A and B roads as well as some on a motorway and average 44mpg (the car is an automatic) - on longer journeys 52mpg. 70mph at 1700 rpm - so quiet.
The good - the engine pulls really well and is quite most of the time (the gearbox will let it rev when overtaking), great lights for night time driving, the built in Nav is good and the display on the Incontrol system still looks good. It is a great drive in bad weather, strong winds do not move it off the line. The AWD give great traction in poor conditions. Great heated front windscreen on frosty mornings. Apple and Android connectivity. Fantastic Meridian sound system. Feels solid. Great road holding.
The not so good - there is a delay from pressing the accelerator to the car moving when it has stopped (putting the gearbox into Dynamic mode helps a lot), you cannot make the heated mirrors come on - they operate when the temperature is low and so when the mirrors have dew on then you have to remember to wipe them before driving off. Main dealer servicing is expensive at £600 (it is a Jag after all), but this is every 2 years or 20K miles. The boot does not offer much storage for oddments. The suspension is on the frim side and so the car does not always feel settled on some road surfaces. Could do with a larger fuel tank.
