Honda Civic (2022 on)
Elegance i-MMD 184 2WD S/C eCVT Auto Start/Stop 5dr
Disappointing
A well designed & efficient car, which is marred by too many annoying features. The latest Civic has received excellent reviews from the motoring press, but dealers are failing to shift their stock and are discounting heavily, which suggests buyers are not 'delighted' with the car.
The front seats are too low and uncomfortable, the backrest angle doesn't have fine adjustment and the passenger seat has no height adjustment. The Honda 'Sensing' safety features are dangerous and annoying, as the 'lane departure' intervenes on narrow lanes and tries to drag you into the bushes, the constant beeping if you drive at 31 mph (a true 30 mph) is distracting and annoying. The 'auto hold' parking brake needs to be set 'on' every journey and doesn't 'set' when the car is in 'park'. The heated front seats have the reverse fault, as they don't switch off automatically. The front mats need new fixing clips, which involves 'cutting slots in the original floor carpet'. The 500 page Owner's Manual is not easy to understand, so even the salesman said "try YouTube videos if you're stuck."
My 2016 VW Golf is a more rewarding and pleasant drive, so I really hope the Honda Civic Hybrid MkII can resolve most of these obvious mistakes !
