Good looks, poor performance.

We ordered a brand new Q3 1.5 35tfsi sportback auto in March 2022 and took delivery in November 2022.
A nice car from the outside, not bad inside but after a while realise that the dash and especially the door cards are quite plasticky and not that nice.
After having driven the car for less than 2000 miles
now we realise it is underpowered and can be tiresome to drive, making you feel quite lethargic. The car doesn't pull away that well at times, as if it's in a too high a gear if it were a manual, this can be both scary and dangerous.
There is a constant high pitched whine, more noticeable when there is no radio on, usually heard on a dual carriageway or motorway, most annoying.
On a recent few days away in the car it kept bombarding me with warnings of this, that and god knows what else, again annoying and dangerous. These were warnings that were distracting and dangerous as they went off before I had chance to read them
The car is quite well built and practical but the engine sounds and drives like it is a three cylinder and not four, I had to look it up to check!
Sum up: an okay car but mechanically very disappointing, maybe the two litre would be better? (Without all the dashboard warnings).
