2025 DS No8 styling, interior and technology

The new DS No8 represents a bold shift for DS, which has newfound aspirations to be seen as a genuine luxury car firm.

The new DS No8 has been designed with aerodynamics in mind. The firm says "each part of the bodywork has been scrutinised in the wind tunnel," with slipperiness being a goal from day one.

Impressively, the designers say the new DS No8’s shape was optimised so much, a 37-mile increase in its official WLTP EV range was achieved. It duly has a Cd drag factor of just 0.24.

Aero-tuned details of the new DS No8 include the gently tapering fastback roofline, the elegantly-sculpted rear wheelarches and a combination of flush front doorhandles and ‘hidden’ rear doorhandles.

The new DS No8 has a distinctive illuminated front grille called DS Luminascreen. This sits between headlamps comprising three modules and eight LEDs that highlight a ‘Cous de Paris’ pattern.

The designers say the front and rear Lightblades of the new DS No8 mean it will be identifiable from more than 100 metres away.

The new DS No8 is offered in five colours, called Topaz Blye, Palladium Grey, Alabaster White, Crystal Pearl and Perla Nera Black. There’s also an extended DS Duotone option that includes a black bonnet.

Inside, the new DS No8 has a distinctive dashboard design that is simple, elegant and decidedly luxurious in appearance.

The wide dashboard of the new DS No8 has metal-effect paneling that’s indirectly illuminated by an uplighter, for a homely feel. It contrasts with lower Alcantara-style trim running the width of the dashboard There’s an extra-wide 16-inch touchscreen in the centre and an additional display for the driver.

The optional Focal premium audio system in the new DS No8 has distinctive speaker grilles in the doors to underline this effect further.

The new DS No8 even offers an eye-catching new design of four-spoke steering wheel, while upholstery choices include Nappa leather watchstrap material.

The new DS No8 has a panoramic glass roof that floods the interior with light. Even this features the distinctive patterning seen in other parts of the interior. Engineers say laminated glass and plenty of soundproofing will give excellent refinement.

The new DS No8 Pallas is offered with an extended Comfort Pack which includes comfort front seats with neck warmers. A feature normally seen in open-top cars, this adds an extra luxury touch for front seat passengers.

Measuring over 4.8 metres long on the outside, the new DS No8 promises plenty of space inside for passengers. There’s also a very generous 620-litre boot.

2025 DS No8 electric motors, performance and range

The new DS No8 is offered purely as an EV in the UK. There will be two battery choices, a standard range with a 73.7kWh capacity and a range of up to 341 miles alongside a 97.2kWh Long Range that can cover up to 466 miles on a single charge.

The new DS No8 also offers a choice of three drivetrains, producing 230PS, 245PS and 350PS. The 350PS is a two-motor AWD setup.

The new DS No8 FWD has 0-62mph performance in 7.7 seconds. The new DS No8 Long Range AWD has 0-62mph performance in 5.4 seconds. Both have a top speed limited to 118mph.

With 160kW rapid charging capability, the new DS No8 will go from 20-80% battery in 27 minutes. It can add 125 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

The new DS No8 offers DS Active Scan Suspension. This uses a camera to scan the road and analyse the surface, sending information to the adaptive suspension so the damping can be set up in anticipation.

The new DS No8 also has DS Pixel Vision LED headlights that reach more than 500 metres, plus a night vision camera and, in Etoile spec, a digital rear view mirror.
