Skoda Elroq: Prices, specs and release date
- New Skoda Elroq electric small SUV has a range of up to 360 miles
- First Skoda to use the latest Modern Solid design language
- Prices from £31,500 and deliveries begin in spring 2025
The new Skoda Elroq is the firm’s second all-electric car and aims to follow in the success of the popular and well-liked Skoda Enyaq.
The new Skoda Elroq is derived from the same underpinnings as the Skoda Enyaq, but is a smaller model overall, similar in size to the Volvo EX30.
This will see it go up against electric rivals such as the new Kia EV3, the Hyundai Kona Electric and the MINI Aceman.
The new Skoda Elroq is available with a choice of three batteries. The biggest has a range of up to 360 miles.
Following the firm’s tradition, the new Skoda Elroq also has a very large boot, measuring 470 litres with the seats in place and 1580 litres with them folded. There’s a new ‘Simply Clever’ stowage solution for the EV charging cables.
The new Skoda Elroq is well-equipped, with all models coming with a rear-view camera, remote control air con (via the smartphone app), blind spot detection and a 13.0-inch infotainment screen.
2025 Skoda Elroq prices and release date
New Skoda Elroq prices start from £31,500, for the 52kWh Elroq 50. This, reckons Skoda, makes it the most affordable compact electric SUV on the market, once battery size and standard equipment are factored in.
The new Skoda Elroq 60, which has a 59kWh battery, starts form £33,500, while the Skoda Elroq 85, with a 77kWh battery, costs from £38,650.
The new Skoda Elroq will be available in the firm’s familiar trim levels – SE, SE L, Edition and SportLine.
The new Skoda Elroq is open for ordering now. First UK deliveries are expected from Spring 2025.
2025 Skoda Elroq styling, interior and technology
The new Skoda Elroq is the first to follow the firm’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language. The traditional Skoda grille is replaced by a gloss black ‘Tech-Deck Face’. The ADAS sensors and front camera are concealed behind it.
The new Skoda Elroq has a neatly-contoured bonnet, which features the new Skoda lettering – making it the firm’s first car to do away with the familiar round Skoda logo. The typical ‘four-eye’ Skoda headlights are also replaced by minimalist LED lighting, with narrow upper segments and larger lower modules.
The new Skoda Elroq has a roofline that gently arcs from the A-pillar rearwards. It blends into a rear roof spoiler, to give a drag coefficient of just 0.26. This is despite it using large alloy wheels, sized from 19-inches to 21-inches. Skoda says the wheels themselves are aerodynamically optimised.
The new Skoda Elroq is available in nine different colours, with one of the three solid colours being this Timiano Green. It is an all-new colour for Skoda that, for now, is exclusive to the Elroq.
Inside, the new Skoda Elroq is typically extra-roomy. There’s more than a metre of headroom in the front, and almost a metre in the rear, while legroom is plentiful too.
The new Skoda Elroq has a 470-litre boot, making it the largest in its class. With the rear seats folded, it extends to 1580 litres. It features new ‘Simply Clever’ features, such as a storage net for a charging cable under the boot lid plus a multi-function luggage cover.
Up front, the new Skoda Elroq follows the same clean dashboard design of the Skoda Enyaq. All models have a 13.0-inch centre touchscreen, which now allows up to five shortcuts to be set for regularly-used vehicle functions along with four shortcuts for apps. Skoda insists the climate control system is more user-friendly as well.
The Skoda Elroq has a ‘Digital Cockpit’ for the driver and optional head-up display with augmented reality functions. There are two levels of ambient lighting, with even the regular setup illuminating the front and rear door panels, door handles, centre console and footwells. The higher level has ambient lighting for the dashboard in 10 standard colours and five ‘mood settings’.
Throughout the cabin, the new Skoda Elroq has a total storage capacity of 48 litres. This includes a ‘jumbo box’ with storage tray and tablet holder, a storage box for those in the rear – and, of course, an umbrella in the dedicated stowage compartment in the driver’s door.
2025 Skoda Elroq battery, performance and range
The new Skoda Elroq is available with three different battery sizes. The new Skoda Elroq 50 has a 52kWh battery, the new Skoda Elroq 60 has a 59kWh battery, and the new Skoda Elroq 85 has a 77kWh battery.
The three batteries in the new Skoda Elroq are combined with three different motors, all driving the rear wheels. The new Skoda Elroq 50 has a 170PS electric motor, for 0-62mph acceleration in 9.0 seconds.
The new Skoda Elroq 60 has a 204PS electric motor, for 0-62mph performance in 8.0 seconds while the new Skoda Elroq 85 has a 286PS electric motor for 0-62mph in just 6.6 seconds.
The new Skoda Elroq supports DC rapid charging. The 50 and 60 support DC charging speeds of 145kW and 165kW respectively, so they can go from 10-80% charged in as little as 24 minutes. The new Skoda Elroq 85 offers 175kW DC rapid charging so, despite its larger size, it can still go from 10-80% in just 28 minutes.
The new Skoda Elroq has a modular lithium ion battery design. The 50 has eight modules, the 60 has nine modules and the 85 has 12 modules. Skoda says the liquid cooling and heating functionality is identical to the Enyaq – the preheating is activated automatically when using the onboard sat nav.
The new Skoda Elroq’s chassis is derived from the larger Skoda Enyaq and all models have rear drum brakes, which Skoda insists is ideal for EVs with regenerative braking.
The new Skoda Elroq is available with optional DCC adaptive dampers, which dynamically adjusts settings based on road surface characteristics. It can also tow braked trailers weighing up to 1200kg.
How big is the new Skoda Elroq?
The new Skoda Elroq is just under 4.5 metres long. A Skoda Enyaq is around 4.65 metres long. Interestingly, both cars share the same 2.76-metre wheelbase.
What EV range does the new Skoda Elroq have?
The new Skoda Elroq 50 has a 230-mile range. The new Skoda Elroq 60 has a range of more than 250 miles, while the range-topping new Skoda Elroq 85 has a range of up to 360 miles.
What is the petrol-powered alternative to the new Skoda Elroq?
The new Skoda Elroq’s petrol-powered sister car is the Skoda Karoq, says the firm. It is a car that offers price parity with its ICE counterpart.
