HiPhi X 2025: Prices, specs and release date

The new HiPhi X is a bold new luxury electric SUV from ambitious new Chinese premium brand Human Horizons – which has already grabbed headlines by becoming the best-selling luxury EV in China.

Now arriving in Europe, the new HiPhi X is likely to be released in the UK from 2025, commanding a six-figure price tag. This will see it square up to rivals including the BMW iX, the new Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV – and of course, the Tesla Model X.

A large, luxurious and tech-packed new EV, the HiPhi X is the first in a full range of premium electric cars from this exciting new brand – and bosses are now keen to build its profile in the UK ahead of releasing the first cars in the next few years.

2025 HiPhi X prices and release date

The new HiPhi X has already been released in Germany and Norway, two key European markets for the brand. However, right-hand drive models are still a little way off, meaning its UK release is more likely to begin from 2025.

The new HiPhi X is a decidedly high-end vehicle. Prices in Europe currently start from around £94,000 and, by the time it arrives in the UK, the six-seater is likely to cost upwards of £100,000. Prices for the even more premium HiPhi X four-seater could start from £120,000 or more.

2025 HiPhi X styling, interior and technology

The new HiPhi X certainly has presence. It is a very large SUV, measuring 520mm long and 2062mm wide even with the door mirrors folding in – both are similar to a Range Rover LWB, although the new HiPhi X is lower and more aerodynamic-looking than the British 4x4 (it has a Cd drag factor of just 0.27).  

At the front, the new HiPhi X has a sleek appearance, with a gently-curving bonnet carrying a series of elegant lines that flow rearwards. The HiPhi badge in the centre is sure to gain attention, as is the ‘X-shaped’ front fascia panel.

The new HiPhi X has an array of pixel-style LED lights, including LED running lights that can form multiple shapes. The new HiPhi X is available in five different body colours – white, two shades of grey, plus purple and orange.

All new HiPhi X have large 22-inch alloy wheels, in either silver or gunpowder grey. They sit within wheelarches equipped with a gloss black lower body styling pack. Body sides are deep and the windows are shallow, with the roofline gently curving rearwards to give the new HiPhi X a GT-style side profile.

At the rear, the new HiPhi X has a wind-cheating layout that includes an ultra-shallow rear window. It has giant LED light arrays either side, with more LED pixel patterns, and a full-width LED light bar. The elongated rear has a gloss black diffuser and, in the centre of the tailgate, ‘HiPhi’ lettering.

A standout feature are the new HiPhi X’s gullwing rear doors. These are split into two sections. The lower doors open rearwards, like a Rolls-Royce, with the upper section flipping upwards. They are more space-efficient than the Tesla Model X’s falcon doors, yet still open a huge space for passengers to step into.

The new HiPhi X’s rear gullwing doors are ‘no-touch’, too. They can automatically open as you approach, or open via gesture control. Passengers can choose not to open the upper section if it’s raining. The frameless front doors are powered, too.

Inside, the new HiPhi X has a proudly digital-first interior, with no fewer than three screens. There is a comprehensive 14.6-inch LCD driver display, an additional HD head-up display, a 16.9-inch portrait-style centre touchscreen that’s angled towards the driver, and a 19.9-inch iMAX passenger screen – complete with directional pixels so the driver can’t view it on the move.

The new HiPhi X’s passenger screen can be used to watch movies, which can be streamed live into the car via a data connection. This system is well-established in China and HiPhi will be eager to set up similarly-seamless packages for Europe, too.

In the rear, the new HiPhi X has two lavish captain’s style seats, rather than a more basic three-seat bench. They have full electric operation, including four-way lumbar support, and are both heated and ventilated. Those buying or leasing a new HiPhi X can choose to have a refrigerator installed between the rear seats.

The six-seat new HiPhi X has a third row of seats. With them in place, there is 204 litres of boot space. With them folded flat, the boot expands to 587 liters. In four-seat mode, there is a 317-litre boot. All new HiPhi X also have a 29-litre front trunk, or ‘frunk’.

2025 HiPhi X electric motor, performance and range

The new HiPhi X has a dual-motor electric drive system, giving intelligent all-wheel drive capability. They deliver a total of around 590ps, which serves up 0-62mph acceleration in 3.9 seconds.

The new HiPhi X has a 97kWh battery. This gives an official WLTP EV driving range of 285 miles. In China, a larger 120kW battery is available, which could be introduced in Europe to extend the EV range further.

The new HiPhi X has a battery heating system and a heat pump, for better efficiency in winter. It also has regenerative braking with multi-step adjustable intensity, pls a ‘vehicle-to-load’ charging port with bidirectional charging.

Standard air suspension is a highlight of the new HiPhi X. It has automatic speed-sensitive adjustment, and offers adjustable height too – along with CDC continuous damping control. The new HiPhi X has double wishbone front suspension and a premium-spec five-link rear setup.

The new HiPhi X’s air suspension can be lowered to make it easier for people to step in and out of – and to make it easier to load the boot.

To help manage the new HiPhi X’s size, active rear-wheel steering is standard. This helps reduce the turning circle at low speed, and makes it more maneuverable at higher speed. Other high-spec features include Brembo four-piston front calipers and Michelin high-performance tyres.

The new HiPhi X weighs 2580kg, which should give it a solid feeling of stability at speed, and serve up a cushioned, Range Rover-style ride.
