The Skoda Kamiq small SUV is being facelifted for 2024 with enhanced styling giving it a more rugged appearance. The new Skoda Kamiq also gets extra standard equipment, enhanced safety assist tech and LED matrix headlights as an option for the first time.

The new Skoda Kamiq is being updated for 2024 to help it stay competitive in the ever-expanding small SUV sector. Alternatives include the Volkswagen T-Cross, Ford Puma, Vauxhall Mokka, Kia Niro, Hyundai Kona, Nissan Juke and Honda HR-V – and there are many more besides.

Always a fine all-rounder, the enhanced new Skoda Kamiq will continue to serve as an appealing entry-level model to the firm’s SUV range. Indeed, it was the best-selling Skoda SUV of all in both 2021 and 2022. The new Skoda Kamiq aims to continue the trend.

2024 Skoda Kamiq prices and release date

The new Skoda Kamiq is likely to be released for sale in early 2024. First deliveries will begin in the spring, and maybe in time for the March 2024 registration plate change.

New Skoda Kamiq prices have yet to be confirmed. The current model starts from around £23,500. Despite its extra equipment, the new Skoda Kamiq will remain competitively priced, and is likely to start from around £24,000.

2024 Skoda Kamiq styling, interior and technology

The new Skoda Kamiq has been mildly facelifted for 2024. The changes aren’t radical and won’t scare off existing fans, but they are sufficient to make the new Skoda Kamiq look fresh and more modern.

At the front, the new Skoda Kamiq has a larger and more upright grille. The double slats seen on other Skoda SUVs are more pronounced, and form a U-shape at the lower end. The lower diffuser is redesigned, and there are new headlights too. The upper light is slimmer, and incorporates the daytime running lights.

Latest ‘Top LED Matrix’ headlights, with hexagonal LED modules, are now an option. Meanwhile, 17-inch alloy wheels are standard and 18-inches are optional.

The new Skoda Kamiq has a redesigned rear apron, with body colour surfaces and a black central diffuser section. Skoda says there’s more silver lower body detailing, to enhance the Kamiq’s SUV credentials, while the rear is capped off by ‘Skoda’ lettering on the tailgate.

The new Skoda Kamiq is available in nine different colours – two solid and nine metallic. Phoenix Orange metallic is a new option, while the Colour Concept pack continues: this sees the roof, A-pillar and door mirrors finished in contrast black.

Inside, the new Skoda Kamiq now has a fully digital dashboard as standard. An 8.0-inch instrument display is standard, with an optional 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit offering a choice of several different layouts.

The standard infotainment display in the new Skoda Kamiq is a free-standing 8.25-inch screen, with a 9.2-inch Skoda Navigation display optionally available. Both systems have a high-end glazed front. The navigation system benefits from over-the-air updates.

New Skoda Kamiq fitted with the optional Climatronic climate control system benefit from a new and easier to use control panel. Skoda says safety assist tech has been improved as well.

Those buying or leasing a new Skoda Kamiq can order either SE, SE L or Monte Carlo trim levels. This simplified line-up is offered with several different interior colourschemes: SE L models have standard, Loft, Lodge or Suite choices, for example.

New Skoda Simply Clever features in the new Skoda Kamiq include an optional electric tailgate that can be operated with a swing of the foot, smartphone storage pickets on the backs of the front seats, and a foldable box on the centre tunnel.

Size-wise, the new Skoda Kamiq will measure around 4.2 metres long, and just under 1.8 metres wide. It will have a very roomy 400-litre boot – that’s almost 20 litres larger than a Volkswagen Golf family hatch.

2024 Skoda Kamiq engines, performance and fuel economy

The new Skoda Kamiq continues with the same well-proven engine line-up as today’s model. All powerplants are TSI turbo petrol engines. The entry-level motor is a 1.0-litre TSI 95 three-cylinder with a five-speed manual gearbox. Fuel economy should average around 52mpg, with 0-62mph performance in 11.0 seconds.

The more powerful 1.0-litre TSI 115 will offer a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG automatic gearboxes. With 115ps, it is 5ps more powerful than today’s engine. It will do 0-62mph in around 10.0 seconds, and average around 49mpg.

The range-topping new Skoda Kamiq is the 1.5-litre TSI 150 four-cylinder engine. Again, choose from either six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG. It will do 0-62mph in around 8.0 seconds, yet still average nearly 50mpg. This is helped by ACT cylinder deactivation, which automatically switches off the middle two cylinders when not needed.

The new Skoda Kamiq’s front-wheel drive platform will come in standard guise, or with a sportier setup that’s lowered by 10mm. The architecture continues to be shared with other Volkswagen Group models such as the Volkswagen T-Cross and SEAT Arona.
