LEVC launches wheelchair accessible TX Access
LEVC, best known as the manufacturer of London's iconic black cabs, has unveiled its latest innovation - the TX Access.
Taking advantage of the interior space of its black cab foundations, the TX Access is designed to provide unparalleled accessibility, with room for up to six passengers, with an emphasis on accommodating wheelchair users.
Joining the LEVC VN5 van, the LEVC TX Access is fully wheelchair accessible and features adirect access ramp that folds away into the floorspace, allowing for swift deployment and adjustability.
Thank to its spacious interior, a wheelchair can easily be rotated into a forward facing position. The TX Access also has a fully compliant restraint system that ensures wheelchair users remain securely seated throughout their journey.
The flat floor, equipped with slip-resistant material, is designed to guarantee stability and safety at all times. It also incorporates an innovative swivel seat that pivots outside the vehicle, enabling hassle-free access.
Optional high-visibility contrasting grab handles and seat edges are available along with a hearing induction loop, braille embossed controls and a microphone system.
The TX Access is powered by the same system used in the Volvo XC40 plug-in hybrid - a combination of a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, giving a total range of 333 miles with an electric only range of 78 miles. Emissions are just 14g/km of CO2.
"The TX Access reaffirms the company's commitment to transforming urban transportation and providing inclusive mobility solutions. By taking advantage of the class-leading TX platform, we are able to support a whole new market of passengers," says Alex Nan, CEO of LEVC.
