Nissan reveals final details of bold new Juke
Nissan has confirmed prices for its funky new Juke which will start at just £12,975 making it an offbeat alternative to small hatchbacks like the Ford Fiesta. The British built crossover - a blend of off-roader and sports coupe - will be available to order in June before it officially goes on sale in September.
The entry-level version is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine with 117bhp and a five-speed manual gearbox (a CVT automatic version is available) plus there's a frugal 110bhp 1.5 dCi diesel that is also used in the Nissan Micra and Nissan Note.
But the most exciting engine is the new 1.6 DiG-T which is available with both two and four-wheel drive. The DiG-T bit refers to the fact it is a direct injection turbo, helping it produce an impressive 190bhp which should mean it's very quick indeed. The top 1.6 DiG-T with 4WD is also available with an Xtronic CVT transmission that has a six-speed manual mode. It's quite pricey at £19,995 though.
Inside all Juke's get the Nissan Dynamic Control System. This is a central command and display module which allows the driver to alter dynamic drive settings as well as easily control functions such as climate control.
The range will consist of three core trim levels already familiar to Nissan drivers - Visia, Acenta and Tekna. The entry-level Visia will be available from £12,795 and comes equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, ESP, six airbags, sports seats and air conditioning.
The Acenta models start at £13,795 and add 17-inch alloys, climate control, Bluetooth with USB connectivity and the Nissan Dynamic Control System. Two option packs are available including the £300 Sport Pack that adds 17-inch Sport alloys, rear privacy glass and premium seat fabric. If luxury is more your thing, then the £900 Premium Pack brings Nissan Connect - the combined satellite navigation and audio system - a reversing camera and six speakers, combined with the Sport Pack's extras.
However, the ultimate Juke will wear a Tekna badge. Available from £15,795, the range-topping specification includes leather upholstery, Nissan Connect, a reversing camera and Intelligent Key with engine start button.
