Audi launches Ultra versions of A4, A4 Avant and A5 Coupe

Audi has launched Ultra efficient versions of the A4, A4 Avant and A5 Coupe. The three new models get styling and engine improvements to lower CO2 and improve economy. Order books are open now and respective prices start at £28,320, £29,620and £31,120.

Both the A4 and A5 Ultra models get lowered sports suspension to reduce drag and a new six-speed manual gearbox to deliver more torque.

The new 2.0 TDI engine has 163PS and features improved toque, up from 380Nm to 400Nm, which is available over 1750rpm to 2750rpm. Audi claims some big gains in efficiency, with A4 models returning 56.5mpg and emitting 109g/km. The A5 will return a claimed 55.4mpg, aligned with CO2 output of 114g/km.

The Ultra range offers a number of BIK and VED benefits, with the A4 Saloon and A5 Coupe dropping to band B and 16 per cent BIK. The A4 Avant remains in banc C, with BIK rate of 17 per cent.

Both the A4 Saloon and Avant will be available in either SE or SE Technik trim, while the A5 is limited to just SE variants.

SE equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, 6.5-inch colour monitor, light and rain sensors, rear parking sensors and electronic climate. A5 SE models also feature Milano leather upholstery.

SE Technik specification for the A4 adds leather upholstery, along with additional features such as hard disk-based MMI Navigation plus, Audi Music Interface (AMI) iPod connection and the Audi Parking System Plus with front and rear sensors.
