Best Volvo Finance Deals

If you're in the market for a new Volvo, here's our pick of the best PCP finance deals from EX30 to EX90 and all in between

Volvo offers an alternative to its premium rivals like Mercedes and Audi with a line-up that's predominantly made up of SUVs with full or plug-in hybrid electrification. There are also a range of finance products across all models.

In addition to conventional PCP and PCH options there's also Volvo Loan, which is the firm's hire purchase offer that's often available with 0% APR. Volvo is a little different from other carmakers in the way it offers deals, too.

If you're looking for the peace of mind that comes with financing a car direct from the manufacturer, Volvo tends to offer four quarterly deals, but will then do improved offers in certain months. For example, February is a good time to get a lower APR deal.

Best Volvo PCP Offers

Volvo’s PCP product is more comprehensive than most. In addition to allowing you to pay for your car with a deposit and monthly instalments, plus having the option to buy it at the end of the PCP term, the PCP agreement includes servicing, digital services from Google, the Volvo app that lets you check the status of the car from your sofa, roadside assistance and home delivery.

Volvo includes the same level of service in its hire purchase option, which it calls Volvo Loan. This allows you to make a downpayment and pay monthly to eventually own your car, spreading the purchase price over an agreed term.

Are Volvo cars expensive to maintain?

As with all luxury car brands, Volvo cars do come with associated higher maintenance costs, but the firm offers a number of options for managing the cost of keeping your new Volvo fit and healthy. For example, if you buy an electric model, three years' servicing is included. If you opt for a conventionally powered model, there are maintenance packages available when buying your new Volvo that make budgeting easier.

The firm's Genuine Service plan includes software updates, replacement air filters and windscreen wipers once a year. Roadside assistance is also included on all leases and purchases for three years. Volvo also offers 0% APR on servicing.

Is a Volvo a good long-term car?

In general, Volvo has a reputation for making reliable cars so they should be solid bets for the long term. This should also extend to the technology they use, too, as the Google-based infotainment in its newer models is updated over the air (OTA) on a regular basis.

However, if you’re keen to drive a Volvo without the maintenance risks as it gets older, using a finance product like PCP or leasing could be a good option. In general, the cars are brand new, and you would only keep the car for four years at the most before returning it, depending on whether you use PCP, leasing or subscription to get behind the wheel.

That means you'd be covered by Volvo's warranty, while using the firm's own PCP or Loan hire purchase products means you get servicing for the car’s first three years or 60,000 miles, and subscriptions to Volvo’s app and Google services for four years, all included.

Does Volvo ever offer 0% finance?

Yes, but it depends on which offers are available at the time you’re looking to finance or lease the car. Volvo runs offers all year round on its website, and 0% finance is something that is offered regularly. We’ve seen this on Volvo Loan, which is the company’s name for hire purchase.

However, one word of caution is that the terms around Volvo Loan are quite tough to meet. For instance, you only get a 0% finance deal if you have a 50% deposit. Given Volvo’s generally have quite high list prices, this would require significant savings to dip into in order to qualify for the 0% finance offer. The finance agreement term is generally shorter - often three years - which pushes up the amount of money required monthly, too.

Are Volvo cars a good buy?

If you’re looking to buy a Volvo on finance, you have a number of options. You can use PCP, which gives you the option to buy the car at the end of the agreement, or Volvo Loan, which is hire purchase that lets you break down the cost of the car into a deposit and monthly payments.

Volvo is generous with the services it provides as standard to finance buyers, so PCP and Loan include servicing for the car’s first three years or 60,000 miles, and subscriptions to Volvo’s app and Google services for four years.

As to whether a Volvo is a good buy, it's essential to test drive any car before buying or taking out a finance agreement as it's only really then that you will know if the car can meet your needs.
