Audi unveils all-new A4 in Germany, with lower running costs and more space than its predecessor, with 2.0-litre TDI Ultra models emitting less than 100g/km of CO2.

Bentley

Bentley Bentayga

Bentayga will use Audi Q7 platform and rival Range Rover for opulence and Porsche Cayenne for pace. Expect to pay £140,000 when it reaches showrooms in 2016.

BMW showcases its next generation of plug-in hybrids at the Frankfurt Motor Show with global debuts for the both the 225xe and 330e. The plug-in 3 Series will use a 2.0-litre hybrid and return up to 134.5mpg.

Citroen uncovers bold version of the C4 Cactus, with a inspiration from the Mehari, a 2CV based off-roader from the 1960s. The soft-top will probably not make it into production, but could result in a off-roader for 2016.

Hyundai is edging closer to building performance-focused ‘N’ models and will unveil three concepts at Frankfurt, which will include an exclusive preview of the 2015 World Rally Championship i20.

Jaguar finally launches F-Pace sports crossover with a production ready model taking centre stage at Frankfurt. The new model gets four-wheel drive as standard and will return up to 58mpg.

New Mazda SUV concept hints at new crossover model that will sit on the CX-5 platform and rival BMW X4 with sporty styling and efficient range of petrol and diesel engines.

Third-generation Clubman will rival the Volkswagen Golf with space for four, low running costs and a 360 litres of boot space. Prices will start at £19,995 when the new MINI reaches showrooms in the autumn.

New 308 GTi is powered by 1.6-litre THP turbo engine and offered with 250PS or 270PS. The GTi will also undercut the SEAT Leon Cupra by more than £1000 with prices start at £26,555.

Carrera gets turbocharged engines with more power and better fuel economy. Prices will start from £76,000 when the new cars go on sale in December and the standard Carrera will now produce 370PS.

 

 

Renault

Next-gen Megane gets new engines and styling as Renault looks to rival the Ford Focus. New Megane will share its underpinnings with the Renault Kadjar and cost from around £16,750.

Ibiza Cupra gets more power with 1.8-litre engine and 192PS. As a result it'll cover 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds and boast a new top speed of 146mph, with power delivered to the front wheels via a new six-speed manual gearbox.

Smart is bringing back the Fortwo Cabrio. The new soft-top gets a canvas "tritop" roof that slides back like a sunroof or can be electronically folded away and stored in the boot.

Suzuki revives the Baleno name as it looks to compete with the Ford Fiesta. The new five-door hatch takes styling cues from both the Celerio and Vitara, while power will come from a 1.0-litre petrol powerplant.

All-new Prius gets new exterior with reworked 1.8 petrol hybrid engine to return 90mpg and 70g/km of CO2. The cabin has also been improved with better materials and more kit as standard.

 

 

Vauxhall

The all-new Astra gets fresh styling and improve fuel economy. The car is slightly smaller than before, but intelligent interior packaging means it remains spacious, with more leg room than the outgoing car.

Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer - New Astra estate is lighter and more efficient, with more interior space. 

Vivaro Surf Concept - Vivaro made with surfer types in mind, featuring a surfboard bracket on the roof and plenty of custom storage.

 

Volkswagen

Volkswagen Caddy Alltrack

All-roading version of Caddy Alltrack to make its debut in Frankfurt, with optional four-wheel drive and rugged styling. New Caddy will be aimed at MPV buyers and van drivers who need to navigate muddy farm tracks and rural roads.

Volkswagen Tiguan - Volkswagen shows off new Tiguan with new exterior, cleaner engines and more space.
