Ford Mondeo Estate - Scanner cannot detect the PCM - H@AJ

Trying to read some some fault codes on a 2007 Mondeo 2.0 TDCI, but the scanner cannot detect the PCM. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. H@AJ

Things to check, is the scanner just EOBD ? If its a proper tool going into the PCM is it can enabled ? Is the battery over 12.2 volts with ign on ?does the car run ? U could enable the dash into diag mode to see if there is an I mobilizer or dash fault ? Remember a mondo of that year is " CAN "

Thank You for your response. The scanner is a Snap-on Solus Ultra - not 100% sure if it is compatible to read "CAN". The car has had a recent battery and does run.

The Solus ultra is a 2012 designed diag system and most definitely is able to read can systems.Try disconnecting the battery on the Mondeo and retest.Have you tried to this scanner on any other car?

Have tried disconnecting the battery and retested but still having the same issue. The scanner appears to work fine on other cars, including other Ford models. Checked the fuse for the DLC which is fine....
