ford mondeo mk3 - notchy stiff steering - bodace5

hi all its been a while. just bought a mondeo zetec s tdci and the steerings got a stiff spot when in the straight position. ive had it on two poster lift and turned the steering using the road wheels and it feels smooth. the fluids at correct level, could it be steering rack? cheers, matthew

Suspect broken spring or top strut bearing. Regards Peter

thanks for the reply. ive searched this site for similar problem and found a thread exactly same and it turned out to the strut bearing so ill knock ball joints off at weekend see what i find. cheers matthew

hi i had a problem with creaking steering and it turned out to be the steering column sprayed some white grease on all joints turning the steering from left to right at same time .
