Vauxhall Insignia - electric brake - jm007

Hi can anybody help me?? I have just been given a company car which has a electric brake. It took me a few days to get used to it, however I live on a steep hill and I'm struggling to reverse up to get out of a parking space in the mornings . What am I missing??? I do the usual, reverse, press button, but car goes forward, tried so many times, still going forwards, hate the car, need to go back to manual handbrake. Any suggestions please??

you shouldnt need to press the button the brake should disengage automatically when you reach bitting point same as when you drive forward, you can also pull and hold the button untill you reach bitting poing then release, doddle when you get used to it

As above it should have an auto release feature, is it possible this has been turned off in the cars menu.

Make sure you are wearing your seatbelt. The brake will disengage automatically if the car is in gear and there is some power via the throttle to get to biting point.
