Think you should never put new tyres on the front of a Sorento, new tyres should always go on the rear. It causes problems with the 4WD system which could be the noise you are hearing. Other than that you may just have bought noisy tyres.

Vovlo 4x4 early models were terrible for destroying the diff if you did not have tyres of the same wear rate,I remember a colleague having to buy four new tyres when he damaged just one tyre an expensive exercise but this applied to many 4x4s Jaguar x types were terrible for destroying diffs if the tyres were badly matched something they don´t tell you when your buying the latest tin can .But I would think with a little luck you should be ok if you have come across the problem in good time.
