I am lost here. Why would it being on 17" wheels make any difference. The engine does not know what size wheels are fitted (unless its a very clever engine).

Unless you are doing a very high mileage then I would not bother do the maths and see if it pays or not.

You'll need flashlube with that engine-include that in the conversion price. LPG will cut your fuel costs by about 25%, not 50%, so it'll take a couple of years to pay for itself. Worth while if you're going to keep the car for several years, not if you only intend to keep the car for three.
