MTD 504 - Ride-on mower Transaxle acceptable end-float etc - tdc

Could anyone please point me in the direction of a mower forum which has plenty of current activity?

I am trying to acertain what is acceptable end-float and lateral play for the half-shafts on an MTD 504 ride-on mower.

Try putting mower forum into Google - I did and there seem to be some, although I couldn't summon up the enthusiasm to look at them.

Thanks,yeah I did that and haven`t had much luck,even joined a top forum but no technical info forthcoming.

This axle works well and someone wants it but the halfshaft endfloat and lateral play would be alarming on a car etc but maybe they`re normal for this ride-on mower?That`s why I`m after the w/shop spec on these components.

Anyone any knowledge/experience on these things?
