hello!
my cousin has recently passed his test. yey! the destination and nature of his new job necessitated the ability to be mobile.
seeing as he is a new licence holder, young, male and lives in a ghetto area (......east london) the choice in cars which would not be stupidly expensive to insure was very limited - he also wanted something that would not depreciate so much + has free congestion charge access. has pretty much sold himself on either the current 2012 face peugeot 107 or citroen c1 (he likes their looks, likes the running costs as well as the insurance quotes - just a little bit over 1000£ doesnt seem bad for a new guy driver). doesnt want to spend 2000+ more on things like vw up as he doesnt think it is worth it.
both the peugeot + citroen seem to rrp at around 7200£ and there seem to be quite a few '12' reg ones on autotrader at 6000£ - 6500£ mark already - so the question is how much more do you think he could realistically expect to negotiate from these prices,if any amount atall? to be perfectly honest he say he would be happy to pay even the 6000£ for either, but anything else he can sliver off would ofcourse be great as well. if he was after something like new ford mondeo he would expect to haggle thousands off the price, but with something thats cheap to begin with, and then already slightly reduced from rrp, just need an idea/ballpark figure(?) of the scale of potential discount he can get for this particular kind of car without being chased out of the dealers.....
we all read that psa group are with money trouble, but that doesnt mean he needs to be any more charitable to them than is necessary. ehehe.
