I live near Birmingham Airport and am looking for a mechanic that can fully service my car without having to takde it to a garage.

I may also need brake pads and brake shoes replacing in the neasr future. It has recently in September passed the MOT. I can't stretch to paying the garage £40.00 an hour fees.

£40 per hour is hardly extortionate for a proper garage with city overheads. I think the only way you are going to get significantly cheaper is to find a friend of a friend who basically does it for the fun of it. Make sure they know what they are doing first though if they are touching the brakes.

I use a small worksop in a medium-sized Midlands town for non-warranty work - I have done for years as I rate their work - they currently charge £40/hour - anything much less than that is going to be a real cowboy.

As above, you need to find someone doing it for beer tokens if you can't afford £40/hour

Premium franchised workshops near Birmingham Airport are probably charging around £120/hour
