I've just bought a new BMW 116 DE, and have been offered the service plus 5 year/60,000 mile package for £1,285, this include all servicing and brake pads/discs/wiper blade replacement.

Not sure whether this is a good deal, as don't know what to expect to pay for replacment brakes and how many I'll get through. I can also just take the servicing pacakge without the brake pads/discs/wiper blade replacement for £300.

I do 25,000 miles a year, 80% on motorway.

Any help/advise please?

Just my own opinion:

Take the standard 5 year service deal at £300.

I can't see you spending £985 on brakes/discs over the next few years; wiper blades you can fit yourself £20/pair.

Besides the mileage you do, this cover would run out first at 60k or 2.4 years!

Got a 118D, had it nearly 5 years. In that time I have spent about £650 in servicing the car at the local BMW dealer, only been in twice. The interval on my car was service based but comes out at 19,000 miles or 2 years. Based on that you would get 3 services, but possibly only 2 since you are covering a high milage and there is no way these will cost £1285. Using your car on the motorway there is no way you will use a set of pads in 60,000 miles either. Cannot remember the last time I bought a wiper blade.

Keep your money in the bank, its a bad deal.

However, the £300 deal is a good one, grab it.
