vauxhall, meriva - rubber seal on oil filter - spursfan

i recently done an oil change on car i recently bought, so fitted new oil filter as well which was a corrugated cardboard type that clips into the cap which came with a round rubber seal which is a little larger than the filter, when i took the old one out it didn't have a seal so am not sure where seal is supposed to go as slips over the filter or if it need's the seal as not one on the old one ?.

It goes in the cover you took off to change the filter if you haven't changed it and it does not leak leave the old one in.

Hey it's a Vauxhall getting an oil change which we must all applaud!

The big and/or little o-ring thing, just take your time and think about it. It's quite simple, you just need a little screwdriver or a bradawl to pick the old one off.

They designed it to be hard, to discourage DIY, so if you can do it, you beat the system!
