Anyone help a new poster?
Wifey has a Mazda 6 2008 petrol, loves it, until... The CD changer jammed, it ate 6 cds, and will not spti them out. We called the dealer (COOP) who said, ah yes it's a common fault.
(easy to fix I thought) What's involved?
Oh we need to remove the dash (all day job) and we need to REPLACE (?) the radio and CD (why?) The CD / Radio unit will cost £1000, and then there is labour on top!!!!!!!
Yowser! £1000 + to fix (replace) a radio, I must look at the dictionary for RIP OFF.
If I had £1000 to spare what kind of HiFi could I get in a car?
Has anyone come up against this, can anyone suggest instructions, a cheaper method of emptying the CDs?
She is going to replace the car end / start of year NOT ANOTHER MAZDA I HASTEN TO ADD, you blotted your copy book on this one. Although since investigating this I have discovered other dealers chargin rip off amounts for 'simple' jobs becasue cars are now so impossible to get at without a myriad of 'special' tools or software.
If I get a haynes manual (if ther is now such a thing) will it show me how to get the radio out?
The radio still works fine, and the CD to all intents and purposes says ejecting, but nothing happens.
Help / suggestions (polite ones) gratefully accepted.
