Vauxhall Astravan, LPG - MPG - Nodroggy

I have an Astravan,Dualfuel powered (factory fitted) that I purchased new in 2000. I have covered over 207,000 miles, mostly using LPG that I find quite a lot cheaper than using petrol. I get about 32MPG (always have) using LPG but I read on here and other forums that people seem to be getting in the region of 43mpg. I drive at a steady 55 or 60 mph and do not overload the vehicle so cannot understand why my consumption seems so high compared to others. Is my consumption poor or is it just that I bought the vehicle in the early days of LPG power and consumption was not so good then? Finally, is there any way to improve the consumption?

32mpg LPG equates to about 40mpg petrol in terms of mass of fuel burned/energy released. 40 mpg is about right for a 1.6 petrol Astra.

32mpg sounds great for an astra van loaded up.

Have you had many problems with the LPG system? Has it proven reliable? Expensive to service?
