Range Rover Evoque SD4 - Fitting a Non OEM Tow Bar to Range Rover Evoque - IvorRedOne

Could someone please throw some light on whether or not Land Rover reserve the right to void a customers warranty on a new vehicle if the customer buys and has fitted a Tow Bar from an NTTA authorised Centre.

Land Rover say they will only approve their own branded versions but they are double the cost of the same Branded style (Westfalia or Witter) and their fitting charges are astronomical.

Is this just a ploy for LR to get my custom or do they reserve the right to nullify my warranty?

Grateful if someon could answer this question as I seem to be drawing blanks elsewhere.

Thanks guys.

I havent heard that before.

But with new cars it is sensible to have the car specific wiring harness fitted to protect any possible damage to the ECU.

I would post your question here.

The Rover electrics will be CANBUS.

If your supplier gets it wrong oops..£££££S

If I werre RR, I would void your warranty for that reason alone..

Some after market fitters are muppets with electrics.

I also agree with the above statements !

Why on earth spend all that money on a car and then cheap skate on a tow bar ?

make SURE you use landrover electrical pack at least !

Be warned, L/R will find any excuse to bail out of any warranty whatsoever so dont give them an excuse as you may well need it !

Very dissapointed owner of an Freelander 2 . I wish I had never bought one !
